IAI (Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia)
Definition
Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia — the Indonesian Institute of Architects, the national professional body for licensed architects in Indonesia, founded in 1959. IAI sets the standards for architectural education, the national architect licensing examination (Ujian Kompetensi Arsitek), and continuing professional development. Membership and the licensed architect (Arsitek) credential are required to sign and seal construction documents submitted for PBG approval.
Example
To practise as a licensed architect in Indonesia, a graduate must complete an accredited architecture degree, accumulate supervised professional experience, pass the IAI's national competency examination, and register with the local IAI chapter to obtain the Surat Tanda Registrasi Arsitek (STRA).
