SLF (Sertifikat Laik Fungsi)
PRACTICE & STANDARDSintermediateSLF
Definition
Sertifikat Laik Fungsi — the certificate of occupancy issued after a building is completed and inspected, confirming it is fit for its intended use. The SLF verifies that the completed building conforms to the approved PBG documents and meets applicable safety, health, comfort, and accessibility standards. Without an SLF, a building cannot legally be occupied, and utilities such as electricity and water connections may be withheld.
Example
A new hotel in Bali must obtain an SLF before opening — the process involves a site inspection by the Dinas Cipta Karya to verify that the building as built matches the approved PBG drawings and that fire safety, structural, and accessibility requirements are met.
