As-Built Drawing
Definition
A record drawing that documents a building as it was actually constructed — incorporating all changes made during construction relative to the original design drawings. As-built drawings are required for the SLF (occupancy certificate) application in Indonesia and are essential for future maintenance, renovation, and building management. They are prepared by the contractor, verified by the architect, and handed over to the building owner at project completion.
Example
After completing a hospital in Surabaya, the contractor submits as-built drawings to the owner showing the actual route of all MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) services as installed — information critical for future maintenance and for the SLF inspection by the Dinas Cipta Karya.
