Alderon
BUILDING MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTIONbeginner
Definition
UPVC corrugated sheet — unplasticized polyvinyl chloride formed into a corrugated profile, used for roofing, cladding, and shed walls. Alderon is cheaper and lighter than metal roofing, with excellent translucency (allowing daylighting in warehouses) and good water resistance. The term 'Alderon' (a Palram brand) has become generic in Indonesia.
Example
Indonesian carports, pergolas, and storage sheds typically use alderon sheets — the translucent or opaque polycarbonate profile spanning directly between posts without separate purlins, providing rapid, low-cost weather protection with minimal structure.
