Kaca Laminated
BUILDING MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTIONintermediate
Definition
Laminated glass — two or more panes of glass bonded together with a tough plastic interlayer (typically polyvinyl butyral, PVB) that holds the glass together if it breaks, providing impact resistance and security. Kaca laminated is used in security applications, hurricane zones, and ground-floor windows, and offers sound insulation benefits over single-pane glass.
Example
An Indonesian bank uses kaca-laminated in teller windows and entrance doors — the laminated glass resisting forced entry and containing glass fragments if the pane breaks, providing security and safety.
